Do you travel with your pet? We do! For those who, like us, can’t leave their furry pet at home, we wanted to post  information about the area for you to enjoy with them during your holidays:

Surroundings of Camping Almafra

Around the campsite, there are several tracks and paths that can be walked with pets safely, because they are exclusively residential areas there isn’t too much traffic. These are some of them:

RUTA 1  —   Circular Route              2.39km                 Very Easy

It borders the campsite on the left by paved road between houses and fields to the roundabout of the Arabí Shopping Center. Return to the campsite on the CV763 road (wide sidewalk and bike lane).

RUTA 2  —    Linear Route              3.42km                 Easy

From Camping Almafra to the Albir beach, this route goes between houses in its first half, along the Sarandó Trail. Once you have crossed the N-332 road below the Albir bridge, you just have to go down the street Boulevard de los Músicos to the beach front.

Alfaz del Pi

The closest town to the campsite, Alfaz del Pi, has several parks for dogs with running water in double-height drinking fountains so all dogs can drink comfortably, bag dispensers and dog waste bins. They are located in Tritó St., Saturn St, Urbanización Jardín de Alfaz and Urbanización Barranco Hondo. This one is the closest to the campsite. Located next to the Forum Mare Nostrum building it is an nice area with big pine trees and free parking spaces.

La Nucia

As pioneer in the Dog Friendly movement, La Nucía has enabled 13 dog parks in the last years. One of the last to be finished has been the one located in the Puerta de Hierro urbanization, with more than 8000m2 of surface and 5 entrance doors (2 in Matisse street; 1 in Sorolla street; 1 in Pinar de Garaita street next to sports courts; and 1 in Puerta de Hierro street next to football field).

Altea

In the area of La Olla de Altea, between the Villa Gadea urbanization and the Mar y Montaña port, there has been a beach since 2016 where pet owners can enjoy the sea accompanied by their four-legged friends. Access is not particularly easy since it is between urbanizations, so we recommend parking in Villa Gadea, both in the hotel car park and on the way down to the urbanization, where there are two spaces for this purpose. Even so, in summer it becomes a Little bit difficult.

For diving enthusiasts, the bottom of this Little frequented beach is really nice for this activity.

The rules for this dog beach, as written on  https://www.alteablog.com/playa-para-perros/, are as follows:

  • Keep your pet under control.
  • Do not disturb others users
  • Pick up your dog excrements.
  • Chipped dogs only
  • Dog has to be up to date on vaccinations and the owner has to take dog’s papers with him.
  • Dangerous dog breeds have to wear a muzzle all the time.
