In 2015, after passing a series of audits, the municipality became part of “The most beautiful villages in Spain” and in 2016 enters the Federation of the most beautiful villages in the world. Guadalest is a small but mainly tourist town and well known for the picturesque castle that dominates the entire Guadalest valley. The municipality is located in this valley and is bordered by the highest heights of the province.

The Algar and Callosa d’en Sarrià Fountains

Callosa d’En Sarrià, an old Muslim farmhouse that became the head of the lordship that dominated most of the region of Marina Baixa, is famous for the excellent fruits of its orchards, highlighting the golden treasure of it’s medlar plantations, with it’s newly achieved “Designation of Origin‍” which are now marketed internationally.


Capital of La Marina Baixa, Villajoyosa (La Vila Joiosa), also known as “La Vila”, it’s a traditional fishing village that’s considered one of the most beautiful villages in the province of Alicante.
